Imagine a Future that Connects the Digital World with Reality

Currently, we live in a digital world, and more are set to come in the future. The truth is that education is today changing tremendously and the expansion of knowledge has resulted in the classroom metamorphosis. The phygital spaces are set to take over the classroom of the future, and at this point, the physical world and the digital world won't be distinguished. The future will be full of the phygital spaces and will significantly impact on the learning experiences of the students and the teachers. Mobile technologies will make real-world experiences a bit more engaging, thanks to its collaborative nature.

What is Phygital?

The phygital situation is when both the digital world and physical world integrate to work together. Communication and advertisement were the first fields for the appearance of phygital environment in the world. Today phygital is commonly used in various areas of interest including education field. When we think of the schools of the future, we have to put into consideration the role of technology in it naturally. The phygital environment in school will enable students to learn in more powerful experiences fostering their skills in school.

Phygital Spaces/Evolution of classroom desks

The following are the major ideas to configuring the classroomsof the future as phygital spaces. The desks will also be part of the phygital revolution. The student’s desks are to evolve to be interactive devices giving room for students to submit work where they are. Teachers also will be able to guide the students in places they are in whenever it is necessary. Students will be able to complete their assignments and upload them through the online class portals.

New role for classroom walls

Walls will provide an interactive role for the students and the education contents through the digitalized mode. Whiteboard and chalkboards have already been removed out of the classroom and will soon be replaced by highly digitalized interactive walls to offer contents to the students. Moving walls will make classroom spaces more adaptable.

Holograms

Holograms are the images that are three dimensional and can be seen by the naked eye. Holograms provide an immersive experience since students’ needs to see, experience and touch what they learn. The hologram can aid students to better and explore their educational contents fully.

Technology means suitability

The classroom of the future will educate students on living suitably. Technology will play a leading role in making them follow this path and have more technical skills starting from their classroom desks. There will be significant changes to the classroom of the future and will be more adaptive to the student’s needs.

Future with Phygital

The future could very well be Phygital. Technologies are diffusing faster than ever within societies and the physical world is coming to meet the digital one in a highly-impactful way; virtuality is mixing with physicality at a whole new level.The phygital world will impact upon education in terms of how educators teach, on students’ learning practices and on methods of learning. The capacity to communicate via digital technology platforms as well as recording and analyzing data is enabled by a phygital world intersection. Interactive technologies enable faster learning for students and for educators to guide students into active practice of learning. Nowadays, when we think of educational practices within the classroom, we can think of technological platforms being utilized and adapted to suit the needs of students especially when it comes to learning styles and abilities.
